Samsung has acknowledged that some apps from the Android Market will run at a smaller resolution than what the seven-inch Galaxy Tab is capable of. According to a Samsung spokeswoman:
If you download Android Market apps to the Galaxy Tab, you will find that many of those applications are fully scalable. Those applications that are not scalable are framed in the display at 800-by-400 [pixel] resolution.
Matt Hamblen at Computerworld says it's difficult to nail down the extent of the Android app issue because the final version of the Galaxy Tab, which will be carried by all four major U.S. carriers, has not been finalized. While the yet to be resolved issue leave the Galaxy Tab looking a little ugly, it's comparable to non-HD iOS apps for the iPad, says Marc Flores over at IntoMobile.
