New mobile network carrier Zer01 Mobile plans to offer unlimited voice and data with no contract for about $70. For an extra $10, users can get unlimited international calling to no less than 40 countries, reports Unwired View.
The mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) routes calls through proprietary VoIP technology. The company has interconnect agreements in place with GSM networks including AT&T and T-Mobile, according to MobileBurn.
Zer01's current phone line-up consists of three HTC devices, but customers will be able to use their own Windows Mobile 6 handsets. In the future, the company plans for its network to also support Android, BlackBerry, Java, Symbian and jailbroken iPhones.
PHONE magazine reports the carrier will launch a closed beta and announce a commercial release date in April.
