Multitasking, the feature iPhone users have been clamoring for, will be the key feature of iPhone OS 4. According to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, it took a while for the company to offer the much-sought-after feature because it wanted to offer multitasking while avoiding problems with battery life and lag. Other key features of the new OS include folders, mail, iBooks, enterprise features, a game center and iAd, Macworld reports.
The software will ship this summer and will be available for the iPad in the fall, says BusinessWeek. Jobs disclosed that more than 300,000 iPads sold on the first day and that more than 450,000 have been sold within the first week. The iPad has not been without its problems. A number of users have complained about intermittent Wi-Fi and overheating.
