China Unicom Sells 5,000 iPhones in Opening Weekend

Reports from around the Web indicated that iPhone sales for China Unicom had gotten off to a slow start. Now we know just how slow.

 

In a weekend in which it added 1 million new subscribers to its new 3G network, the carrier only sold 5,000 iPhones, reports SlashGear. China Unicom says it is "satisfied" with the sales figures, though. The lack of Wi-Fi and potent gray market seems to have left China Unicom in a lurch, with a lot more iPhones to sell.
