BlackBerry Bold 9700 Impressions

Research in Motion's BlackBerry Bold 9700 will launch this month on both T-Mobile's and AT&T's networks. The smartphone will makes it debut for AT&T on Nov. 22 and is expected no later than Black Friday for T-Mobile. Each carrier will charge $199 for the handset with a two-year service contract.

 

Laura June at Engadget provides a review of the new BlackBerry. June finds the overall aesthetic appeal of the 9700 to be less substantial than older BlackBerries, but believes it succeeds in bringing the device up to date with newer RIM offerings. Chip Chick concludes that while the 9700 can't compete with the multimedia chops of the iPhone, it's an incredibley reliable business smartphone.
