Microsoft has released the Release Candidate build of Windows XP Mode. Windows XP mode allows users to run older applications that may not be compatible with Windows 7 within the forthcoming Windows operating system, says PC Magazine. The company has made the RC available for download from the Microsoft Download Center, Microsoft Connect and the Windows home page, PC World reports.
Microsoft also detailed changes made to the release from earlier versions. Some of the changes include the ability to attach USB devices to Windows XP mode applications directly from the Windows 7 taskbar, access to Windows XP applications from a jumplist, and a tutorial for how to use Windows XP mode.
