Windows 7 Experiences Good Uptake Following Launch

The launch of Windows 7 saw Microsoft's new operating system nab 3.48 percent market share by the end of last month, a surge of 40 percent, according to Net Applications. The jump in share represents more than double the share Windows 7 had at the beginning of October, Computerworld reports.

 

Windows 7 made major gains in Eastern Europe. Seventeen of the top 25 countries using Windows 7 are in Eastern Europe or were once part of the U.S.S.R. Despite the growth experienced by Windows 7, Microsoft still lost market share to Apple and its Mac OS X platform, according to MAC.BLORGE.
