Wi-Fi Alliance Begins 802.11n Certification Program

Ainsley Jones

Now that 802.11n is official, the Wi-Fi Alliance is launching a certification program based on the IEEE's completed 802.11n standard. The Wi-Fi Alliance is now testing and certifying products that use the networking standard. Initially, testing is being done in two labs, but will be expanded to 13 over the next few weeks, InfoWorld reports.

The program is being put in place to aid consumers and enterprises in distinguishing between the speeds and products of 802.11n-enabled equipment, according to TMCnet.com.
