USB 3.0 Certification Program Under Way

Posted by Ainsley Jones Sep 1, 2009 1:45:06 PM

The USB Implementers Forum announced that it is making available the USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed) Compliance and Certification program today. The move will allow vendors to achieve certification and the ability to display the SuperSpeed USB logo for testing and to ensure product compliance with the specs.

USB 3.0 is expected to deliver 10 times the data transfer rate of USB 2.0. Products have been in testing since March and can be expected to make their way to market later this year. Analyst IDC expects USB 3.0 to represent 30 percent of the USB market by 2013, PC Magazine reports.
