Sun Offers Preview of JavaFX

Sun Microsystems is offering a preview version of JavaFX, its development platform for rich Internet applications, as it enters the framework wars with Adobe and Microsoft, reports The Inquirer.


It says the JavaFX site offers the preview release and software development kit, tutorials, plug-ins and more. Sun's "Project Nile" allows elements from Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to be exported into JavaFX applications.


The company says it wants to enable programmers to develop applications for a variety of "screens," such as mobile devices, browsers, desktops and TVs, reports
