Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 Beta Released

Posted by Ainsley Jones Jul 6, 2009 9:41:41 AM

Red Hat released a beta-test version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 late last week. The version is the first to incorporate virtualization based on KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). In addition to new virtualization tools, the beta promises better performance, security and developer tools, says V3.co.uk.

It's expected that Red Hat will announce its new virtualization portfolio, including additonal information regarding Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4, in September in conjunction with the VMworld 2009 event in San Francisco, reports InfoWorld.
