Platform Application Center Brings HPC Applications to IT Pros

Ainsley Jones

Platform Computing, which makes software for cluster, grid and cloud management, has launched its Platform Application Center, which enables users of high-performance computing to easily submit and manage HPC applications through a Web-based portal interface. The new solution is also available as an option on Platform Computing's Platform LSF7 and Platform HPC Workgroup Manager.

Jingwen Wang, Platform Computing vice president of products states:

Running and managing HPC applications in a dynamic, multi-user cluster environment has been a big challenge for average users. The release of the Platform Application Center, along with these upgrades to Platform LSF and Platform HPC Workgroup Manager, makes accessing HPC applications and managing cluster and application environments much easier for users and administrators.

Dan Berthiaume at our CTO Edge site says the move makes HPC applications more accessible to IT professionals, whom as a group are becoming increasingly less tolerant of technologies that give them difficulty.
