Opera Embeds Geolocation into Browser

Ainsley Jones

Thanks in part to a partnership with Skyhook Wireless, the Opera Browser now features Geolocation API support, says TechWhack.

Skyhook's technology works by detecting Wi-Fi access points to determine the user's location. Users that download the browser will be able to share their location with any site that supports it and receive information on products and services in their area. According to InformationWeek, users have the choice to opt-in to the browser's location features.
