Office Live Meeting Gets an Update

Posted by Susan Hall Jun 5, 2007 1:32:06 PM

Microsoft has released its new version of Office Live Meeting, Web conferencing software it hopes will compete with market leader WebEx.

Live Meeting 2007 supports live Webcams, including a 360-degree conferencing camera, regular phone calls and voice over Internet protocol communications, Internetnews.com reports. The previous version required choosing between the two kinds of calls.

It can record conferences that use rich media and supports Flash audio and video files.

The updated service will be out in the third quarter, around the same time as Office Communications Server 2007, which also has Web conferencing capabilities. Users of Live Meeting and the Office Communications Server can participate in the same conference, reports InfoWorld.
