Motorola Offers First Retail DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

Motorola announced an agreement to sell its SurfBoard SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 eXtreme cable modems through Fry's Electronics stores. The DOCSIS 3.0 standard offers download and upload speeds up to four times faster than the DOCSIS 2.0 standard. According to Engadget, the devices will be the world's first retail DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems.

 

The retailer will sell the cable modem for $99.97, reports Multichannel News.
