MetaEfficient Lists Greenest Desktops and Laptops

Ainsley Jones

Greenpeace has issued its list of what it considers to be the most eco-friendly companies, and now Web site MetaEfficient has provided a list of the greenest desktops and laptops.

GreenerComputing reports the site developed its list using the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's EnergyStar certification and the EU's RoHS directive requirements. In addition, energy efficiency, materials use, power supply and packaging were also taken into account.

Dell's Studio Hybrid PC topped the desktop list, while Lenovo's ThinkPad X300 topped the list for laptops. Only Apple and Lenovo have products on both lists.
