LaCie Partnership Produces Starck HDDs

Ainsley Jones

Form meets function through a partnership between LaCie and designer Philippe Starck. The two collaborated to produce the LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive and the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive. According to HEXUS.net, the drives feature more than Starck's iconic design.

The desktop drive consists of an intelligent surface that is touch sensitive. This enables users to customize the drive to open applications of their choosing with the simple touch of a finger. Both drives are made from aluminum, making them sleek and sturdy. Each is compatible with both Macs and PCs. The desktop drive is available in either a 1TB or 2TB version and the price starts at $130. The mobile drive is available in 320GB and 500GB capacitities and costs $100, according to GeekSugar.
