Juniper Unveils Cutting-Edge Routers

Posted by Kara Reeder Oct 29, 2009 4:23:41 PM

CTO Edge reports that Juniper has unveiled cutting-edge networking hardware that use a new processor architecture it claims is several times faster than anything else on the market. The chipset offers advanced forwarding, queuing, scheduling, synchronization and end-to-end resiliency features.

Pradeep Sindhu, Juniper’s founder, vice chairman and CTO, claims the chipset, dubbed Junos Trio,

will dramatically change the economics for our customers, while helping them create new and better experiences for their customers.

The company is also working on a project called Falcon that will allow customers to use the same equipment to switch both fixed-line and wireless traffic.

Pricing for Junos Trio will not be available until Nov. 1.
