Intel Refutes Pine Trail Delay

Ainsley Jones

Intel has rejected recent claims that it is delaying the launch of its next-generation Pine Trail chips. Mooly Eden, general manager of Intel's mobile platform, says Pine Trail is on schedule and that the company will ship the next-generation chips during the second half of 2009, SlashGear reports.

The rumored delay of Pine Trail has been linked to Acer and Asus postponing the release of their new netbooks, as the two client hardware vendors want to wait for the release of Intel's new chip. Pine Trail is expected to bring improved performance and power savings to netbooks, PC World reports.
