IE Tops in Browser Market, but Lead Is Slipping

Ainsley Jones

New research from Forrester found that Microsoft's Internet Explorer is still tops when it comes to Web browser use, largely driven by IE7 and IE6. However, Internet Explorer continues to lose market share, says Daily Tech.

Despite the recent availability of IE8, Microsoft market share in the browser market fell from 66.82 percent in March to 66.10 percent in April. During the same time frame, Firefox saw its market share increase from 22.05 percent to 22.48 percent, according to Net Applications. Safari and Opera each saw their share of the market decrease slightly, reports TG Daily.
