IE Continues Slide in Market Share

Internet Explorer continued to lose market share to Firefox, Safari and Chrome in 2008, with a big loss in December, reports Computerworld.


IE lost 1.6 percentage points in December, and was down 7.9 percentage points for the year, according to figures by Web metrics vendor Net Applications.


In December, 68.15 percent of Web surfers used IE, 21.34 percent used Firefox, 7.93 percent Safari and Chrome topped 1 percent for the first time with 1.04 percent, according to Network World.
