Google will provide some holiday travelers a nice gift as they make their way through airport terminals across the country. Google has bought out Web service at 47 airports through Jan. 15 and will offer it for free, along with prompts asking if users want to make Google their homepage or if they want to try Google Chrome.
Google said in a statement:
This is one of our holiday gifts to our users, and when you connect, we also hope you'll take the opportunity to try some of the latest Google products.
The company is also running a charitable campaign through the free Wi-Fi program to raise money for Engineers without Borders, One Economy Corp. and Climate Savers Computing Initiative, CNNMoney.com reports. Google will also extend the free Wi-Fi deal to Virgin America flights within the continental United States, says PCWorld.com
