Google Mulls Ditching Beta Tags

Google is considering going legit with Gmail and a few other offerings by removing the pervasive beta labels that comes with them. At the company's I/O Developer Conference, Google noted that the issue of ubiquitous beta tags would be addressed in the near term, reports The Register.


A Gartner analyst heeds that business users can be put off by the company's beta tags. Madeline Bennet at vnunet speculates that Google's recent service outages have the Internet giant considering methods to reassure business users.
