Google Apologises for and Explains Service Problems

According to Google, a traffic routing system error was the source of sluggish and interrupted search, Gmail and YouTube service around the globe yesterday. About 14 percent of users experienced slow service or service interruption for about an hour, reports BBC News.

 

The service issue once again raises questions about the reliability of cloud computing. Companies that rely on Google's data and services were hurt and Web transactions were reportedly slower for retailers, according to the Miami Herald.
