Fix Released for OpenOffice

Susan Hall

Two weeks after it was discovered, SuSE released a fix Friday for a flaw in the OpenOffice.org suite of programs that could be exploited by attackers.

The attack causes vtable entries to be overwritten by using RTF files with a "prtdata" tag that has a length parameter inconsistency, reports vnunet.com.

Secunia rated the flaw as "highly critical." It affects openSuSE 10.2, SuSE Linux 10, SuSE Linux 10.1 and SuSE Linux Desktop 1.x.
