FCC Taking Comment on Comcast Practices

The Federal Communications Commission is taking comment through Feb. 13 on Comcast's policies for managing peer-to-peer traffic, notes Washington Post blogger Kim Hart.

The FCC also seeks comment on a petition filed by Vuze, another file-sharing company, that seeks guidance on reasonable network management.

Consumer and public-interest groups sought the investigation, claiming that Comcast blocks some file-sharing traffic. The company says it delays some traffic to ensure acceptable network speed for all users.

It has sent letters to Comcast for information about its practices, according to an Associated Press story on Newsvine.com.
