Mark Zuckerberg announced a collaboration between Facebook and Skype yesterday. In its partnership with Skype, Facebook is rolling out a new video chat feature that will initially start out as a one-to-one feature. Facebook also announced a new group text chat feature that allows users to communicate with multiple people simultaneously, reports The Seattle Times.
The announcement provides an answer to Google's newly announced Google+ project. Although the partnership was in the works before Microsoft's acquisition of Skype, Facebook's ongoing partnership with the Redmond, Wash., company certainly won't hurt going forward.
