Clearwire Officially Launches in Atlanta

Ainsley Jones

Clearwire has been operating in Atlanta for the last six weeks, but the service was officially launched in the almost 1,200-square-mile Atlanta metro area today. The high-speed service, available to nearly 3 million people, is available from $20 to $50 a month, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The company plans to launch the WiMax service in 80 markets by the end of 2010. The Clearwire service is currently available in Baltimore and Portland, Ore. In addition, the service has been unofficially launched in Las Vegas.
