Citrix Adds Application Streaming's Benefits to Presentation Server

Posted by Kachina Shaw Feb 12, 2007 12:17:19 PM

An update to Citrix's Presentation Server, version 4.5, uses application streaming to, well, streamline delivery of Windows-based apps to users in an on-demand-type model.

The infrastructure has been beefed up to allow quicker delivery of even graphics-intensive apps to users, with updates, patches, etc. automatically kept up-to-date, unseen to the users, says an internetnews.com article today.

Price points from $350 to $600 for each concurrent user could make the Presentation Server 4.5 attractive even to SMBs looking to reduce IT workloads by simplifying implementations, testing and user access management, and leveraging additional features like automated single sign-on. The product will be available in March.
