American Airlines' Phone System will 'Know' You

American Airlines has added speech-recognition technology that allows frequent fliers to get flight information faster, according to The Associated Press in a story in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.


Members of American's frequent-flier program, AAdvantage, can use the "Remember Me" system, which will recognize up to three phone numbers for the customer and greet them by name, which actually sounds kind of creepy.


It's using technology by Microsoft subsidiary Tellme, featured in my story last month on the direction of speech-recognition technology.
