According to InformationWeek, the federal Department of Health and Human Services has awarded Lockheed Martin $170 million in contracts to help improve efficiency in government health information technology systems.

One of the contracts, worth $142 million with a three-year base period and four one-year options, is for desktop support, help desk and call center services. Another $28 million contract will provide support and Web application design and development, database design, infrastructure analysis and planning, and information assurance for the National Institutes of Health Office of Computer and Communications Systems Software Support Services.

Earlier this month, the veteran federal IT contractor secured a $31 million contract from the U.S. military to develop new cyber security systems.
