House Web Site Swamped

Susan Hall

The debate over health care reform has lead to an overload of traffic on the U.S. House of Representatives' main Web site, reports The Associated Press.

The story on seattlepi.com says the site http://www.house.gov may be slow or unresponsive because of the crush of citizens trying to express their views. Network World says the "Write Your Representative" page has been especially bombarded. It also notes that Congress is in recess, so House members aren't in their Washington offices, anyway.

Hoping to counter critics of his health reform proposals, President Obama has launched his own viral e-mail campaign, reports USA Today.
