Federal CIO Vivek Kundra says the government will announce new tools and metrics for measuring and managing the federal government's cyber security efforts.

According to InformationWeek, this fiscal year, agencies are going to be required to report detailed spending information on cyber security. That information will make its way to the new cyber security dashboard. Kundra says:

the new cyber security dashboard will provide the government with a real-time view of threats facing us and our vulnerabilities.

Earlier this year, Kundra announced an IT dashboard to provide details about every major IT project pursued by the federal government. The dashboard ended up identifying 45 over-budget or behind-schedule projects.
