Waste Management Sues SAP Over ERP System

Susan Hall

Garbage hauler Waste Management is suing SAP seeking reimbursement for a $100 million ERP system it calls "a complete failure," reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The lawsuit alleges that software to handle tasks including billing, collections, pricing and new mcustomer setup were pitched as a "tested, working solution that had been developed with the needs of Waste Management in mind" with no customization required, according to InfoWorld. However, the complaint alleges, the German company's U.S. version of the software had never been tested at a U.S. company that hauls waste and handles recycling and actually was a beta version.

It's asking for its money back, as well as damages. SAP has declined to comment about the litigation.
