New York State Turns to Social Media

New York State's Office for Technology is embracing social media with a strategy called Empire 2.0, reports Government Technology.


According to this press release, it's touting the effort as "a new and innovative way for New York State to create, connect, and collaborate."


The tech office has its own Facebook and Twitter accounts, a wiki for developing IT policy and strategy, and a crowdsourcing Web page called called New York State Tech Talk that collects pubic comments and ideas for future projects.
