Google Dashboard Addresses Privacy Concerns

Posted by Kara Reeder Nov 5, 2009 9:06:20 AM

In an effort to quell privacy concerns and give users more control, Google has unveiled a dashboard that gives users a complete view of their personal information tied to the various Google services they use, reports NetworkWorld.

Google Dashboard provides information such as Web use, search requests and e-mail use when people are logged into Google services like Gmail, YouTube and Google Calendar. According to CNET News, users can delete data, change privacy settings and read the privacy policies from several accounts on a single Web page.

SearchCowboys says Google Dashboard is not as transparent as it seems. While the dashboard provides a simple way to view data associated with your account, it doesn't include all Google products, nor does include cookie-based data Google collects through ads.
