Enterprise Open Source Groups to Merge

Susan Hall

The OW2 Consortium and the Open Solutions Alliance (OSA) plan to merge to create one voice on research, technology and policy issues for open source in the enterprise, reports v3.co.uk.

Essentially, the Paris-based OW2 Consortium is taking over the California-based OSA, which will become the North American chapter of the OW2, according to computing.co.uk.

It says the OW2 was set up to develop open-source middleware, though it now includes applications, too. The OSA was set up to drive adoption of open-source software in the enterprise.
