HP, Cast Iron Help SMBs Integrate in the Cloud

Posted by Kara Reeder Jun 1, 2009 10:41:11 AM

In an effort to help SMBs integrate cloud applications with their internally deployed systems, HP and Cast Iron Systems have joined forces to link Cast Iron software and HP hardware, reports InfoWorld.

The solution, which pairs the Cast Iron Virtual Appliance with HP's ProLiant or blade servers, is being offered through resellers. According to Duncan Campbell, HP vice president of Adaptive Infrastructure & Small and Midmarket Business:

It's a meet-in-the-channel solution whereby the channel partner is selling a server to the customer and is also selling software to the customer to provide this integrated solution to customers to be able to integrate cloud applications with their on-premise applications or their existing infrastructure.

The price for ProLiant servers starts at $2,000. Cast Iron charges $500 per endpoint per month for each application involved.
