Unisys Cutting 1,300 Jobs

Susan Hall

Tech services provider Unisys plans to eliminate 1,300 jobs globally in an effort to reduce costs by more than $225 million a year, reports The Associated Press in a story in The Boston Globe.

Standard and Poor's removed the struggling company from its S&P 500 index in November.

The company's cost-containment measures include a freeze on salaries, cuts in its contributions to employees' 401(k) retirement plans and consolidation of facilities, according to Computerworld.
