Wholesale prices for Internet addresses ending in .org will increase 10 percent to $6.75 a year, effective Nov. 9, according to an Associated Press story on Newsvine.com.
Public Interest Registry, which operates the .org domain name, will collect the fee from companies that sell the domain names on its behalf. Nearly 7 million domain names end with .org.
Earlier, price increases were announced for names ending in .com and .net. Names ending in .com will go up 7 percent to $6.86 and the .net fee will increase 10 percent to $4.23. Both go into effect Oct. 1.
