Microsofties Shell out for Obama Inauguration

Though President-Elect Barack Obama has said he will not accept donations from corporations, lobbyists or political action committees for his inauguration, Microsoft execs have had their wallets open, reports TechFlash.

Bill and Melinda Gates each gave the maximum $50,000, as did Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie. Other Microsofties contributed heavily as well.

A Microsoft spokeswoman told Joseph Tartakoff at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that the donations were personal contributions that were not related to the company. Donors are listed on the inaugural Web site.
