Google Calendar in Sync with Outlook

Kara Reeder

On the heels of its recent Google Sites launch, which lets companies build their own team sites, Google is offering a tool that will let users sync their Google Calendar with their Microsoft Outlook calendar, reports InformationWeek. That's right, the days of manual syncing are gone ... maybe.

Once downloaded, an event added to Microsoft Outlook will automatically be added to Google Calendar and vice versa. Google also made it possible to adjust privacy settings so contacts can see only info shared directly with them.

However, WebProNews blogger Doug Caverly warns not to give up the old routine just yet. Forums on Google Blogoscoped and Google Operating System show there are some kinks and not everyone is happy with the tool. But there have been no reports of lost data.
