Can Windows 7 Ad Campaign Change the Picture in Your Head?

Posted by Susan Hall Oct 22, 2009 3:36:37 PM

Microsoft is kicking off a new advertising campaign to go with its Windows 7 operating system, though the challenge is to get that "PC Guy" that Apple created out of people's heads, according to Bloomberg.

The new campaign, “I’m a PC and Windows 7 was my idea,” kicks off  Thursday in six countries, reports Mary-Jo Foley at ZDNet. She points out that Microsoft wants to get Vista out of people's heads as well.

It expands upon the "I'm a PC" campaign by trying the sell the idea that Microsoft is paying attention to customer feedback. AdWeek describes it like this:

the commercial presents a quick-cut montage of people from around the world sharing what they want from their computers as Microsoft engineers responded with the line, "I'm listening."
