Social Media Policies Found

Posted by Patrick Avery Mar 6, 2009 1:35:05 PM

I mentioned an IT Business Edge interview with social media blogger and consultant Daniel Hoang in my post, Wanted: Social Networking Policies. After that interview, Hoang posted a Sample Social Networking Policy in the Knowledge Network.

Giving guidance to readers, Hoang said "remember that this is only a sample and framework for social media policies. In developing policies and procedures for your company, you should tailor the language to reflect the culture and the company environment. Depending on the usage of social media, policies should be more or less explicit, particularly in defining terms."

An additional social networking policy can be found at IBM's Web site. IBM's policy focuses on the idea of responsible engagement in innovation and dialogue.
