Security Taken Seriously, Survey Reveals

Posted by Patrick Avery Nov 3, 2009 3:04:05 PM

A recent Price Waterhouse Coopers survey of 7,200 CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CISOs, CSOs and other IT executives revealed that 85 percent of the respondents had a security executive position. To put that in perspective, only 56 percent had one last year and only 43 percent had one in 2006, says IT Business Edge contributor Ralph DeFrangesco in a recent blog.

Security positions have existed in organizations for a while, but now those positions report to the top executives, DeFrangesco says.

"Organizations are saying that security is a corporate concern and they are willing to give these security execs the authority and funding to be successful. And if they are successful, then the organization will be successful."

IT Business Edge's Knowledge Network has dozens of job description templates available that help companies figure out what they need in an employee and whom they should report to. If you want to start from scratch, take a look at this sample Job Description Template.
