The motivating power of compensation is obvious, and managing it well can benefit an organization in a number of ways. Participants in this benchmark research rated aligning the workforce to business strategy and goals most highly; 58 percent of them called it very important. Nearly half (45 percent) cited the more direct benefit of improving relations with the workforce as very important. Benefits for HR and for Finance also garnered significant shares, especially improving the efficiency of the process (47 percent), reducing cost and overpayments (30 percent) and gaining full value from investments (34 percent). Overall, our research found that organizations understand well the benefits of total compensation management and are planning investments to achieve them.
