It is with a touch of sadness that I move on from the Internet security beat here at IT Business Edge. Online security is, of course, a vital topic. It's also fun to cover. I love the give and take of online security issues: It's good cop versus bad, white hat versus black, cat versus mouse. There also are folks in the middle who decide which way to go on a case-by-case basis.
For my money, the sheer brilliance of the people who created, maintain and improve the Internet is nowhere more evident than in the world of online security. Of course, there are brilliant people everywhere in the online world. However, there is something about the Wild West aspect of the online security sector that gives that brilliance a higher profile. Unfortunately, the skills and intelligence are matched, IQ point for IQ point, by those on the dark side.
I am very eager to read Ralph DeFrangesco's security posts. The biggest difference between us is that Ralph is a hands-on guy. As somebody who has actively worked in the security field, Ralph will bring a fresh perspective and lots of insight to his security blog.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to read Network Sentry. I truly appreciate it. Please continue to read my posts at Caller IP. Also, I have been asked to write features for the site, which is proving to be a tremendously fun challenge.
