Top Five Mobile Cloud Predictions for Business Users
Business users well understand where these technologies are heading and what they expect within the next year.
It doesn't take much foresight to realize that we're still living in the digital stone age of mobile computing. No doubt, there have been great advancements in the last two years, but compared to what's about to come, the mobile computing experience that most end users have today is going to be remembered as downright primitive.
For instance, Scott Puopolo, vice president for Cisco's Internet Solutions Business Group, says it will be a whole lot easier to have distinct personas on your mobile computing device that will make it easier to separate your work life from all your personal pursuits. In addition, mobile computing devices will be seamlessly integrated into the cloud in a way that will make it difficult to distinguish what is actually running locally versus what is actually hosted in the cloud.
This capability, says Puopolo, will give birth to a wave of new collaboration applications that will leverage videoconferencing to significantly increase productivity across the entire corporate environment.
Ultimately, Cisco expects the borders between various classes of computing devices to start to dissolve as mobile computing just becomes a natural extension of the overall computing experience, which, when you think about it, is increasingly becoming long overdue.
