New Year's Resolutions for Your SMB

Paul Mah

It's a new year again. As we end the first week of 2010, what new resolutions have you made for IT? To help everyone along, I have come up with a number of possible resolutions to adopt, backing it up with some practical ways that they can be met.

And rather than the usual article, I thought it will be fun to break the ideas into various bullet points, pointing to blogs I've written throughout the year as anchors. So, as you clear the backlog of work in the first week, here are my suggestions for your consideration for your small or medium-size business.

As usual, comments, feedback or suggestion for additional resolutions will be very much welcomed.

Resolution No. 1: Work to reduce IT costs

Resolution No. 2: Practice greater security

Resolution No. 3: Consider alternatives ways of doing things

Resolution No. 4: Plan contingencies for uncontrollable disasters or circumstances
