New Tool Helps Companies Police Employee Usage

Patrick Avery

A new document, posted by ITManagersToolkit.com, gives users an example of an Internet Usage Policy. This template gives companies a set of guidelines in which to take, change and ultimately, craft a policy that meets their own needs. Specific measures included in this sample include:

  • Internet access is reserved for those who have a demonstrable business need for such access.
  • The company will routinely prevent users from connecting with certain Web sites.
  • No software or data files may be uploaded from a company system to another computer without authorization.

What other guidelines would you add to an Internet usage policy?
